Antique 15ct Gold Bean Locket Pendant

Who doesn't love a gold kidney bean charm? This one is a rare one, as it isn't only a beautiful bean, but it's a usable locket that opens up to hold a little photo or mini treasure. 
 
The gold has a lovely patina to it due to the age and a slight rosey warmth that would be expected from an antique gold piece.
 
Each side has been hand engraved. One side with a date we believe to read "April 5, '02" and the other "H & A". We wish we knew the story and the meaning of the engravings but sadly we don't, but we can imagine. 
 
The bean is in fantastic antique condition with light wear commensurate with age. The engravings have softened with time but still visible. It closes tightly so is secure to hold something inside. There is a little piece of fabric to one side that we believe is original so have left it. 
 
Hallmarks: There are no hallmarks present but the entire piece has been tested as 15ct gold.
