Antique (1898) Silver Fetter Albert Watch Chain

This piece would have been an essential (yet stunning!) piece for a gentleman's pocket watch. It's a heavy and substantial link with those old crispy hallmarks we love to see. At a shorter length we think it would look fantastic attached to a bracelet or extender to create a beast of a necklace.

An antique pocket watch chain comes with so much history and is the perfect addition to any jewellery collection. This one is a beauty with the lion hallmark on every solid fetter and round link. At nearly 130 years old, it's not just a beautiful piece of jewellery, but a true piece of history.

Hallmarks: Every link is stamped with a lion for silver. The T bar is stamped with a lion, a date letter for the year 1898 and a makers mark "H.P". The dog clasp also has a matching makers mark "H.P" along with a lion and date letter for the year 1898 . One of the fetter links also has the same makers mark.

Condition: The chain is in great antique condition with light wear commensurate with age. It has not been over-polished as we prefer the antique patina to the chain but if you would like it polished to a high shine any jeweller would be able to do this for you. The dog clasp is strong and springy.
