Antique (1901) 5-Diamond Boat Ring

Antique (1901) 5-Diamond Boat Ring

£645.00Price

We love when we find a ring with crisp clear hallmarks that tell its story. The hallmarks tell us that the ring was crafted in solid 18ct gold in 1901 in the city of Chester in England… that’s over 120 years ago!

The boat shape top was very popular in the Victorian times and still is today. It’s really easy to wear, stacks well, doesn’t snag on anything and is super comfortable. Plus it has incredible sparkle.

There’s an estimated 0.55tcw of old cut diamonds with the central stone being just under .2ct. The diamonds are beautiful hand cut old diamonds that are eye clean and white. Under a loupe there are inclusions but only visible on close inspection.

The ring is in beautiful antique condition with wear commensurate with age. The shank of the ring is thinning but with care it still has a very long life left.

Hallmarked crown 18, Chester assay and date letter for 1901.

Makers mark: E.V for Edward Vaughton, a jeweller who worked from 1886-1912.
