Vintage (1941) Wide 9ct Rosey Gold Utility Band
There's something so tactile and wonderful feeling about a wide gold band when you wear it. This one shows it's long life with a beautiful soft patina. We love it for that and think that it would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
This one is slightly special as it has a utility hallmark to the interior. A "utility" mark on a 9ct gold item, shows it was made during World War II, and indicates that the gold content was reduced to 9 carats. This was a wartime measure to conserve gold and you will only find this unique mark on these specific pieces.
The ring is made of a warm rosey toned 9ct gold. It feels really comfortable when worn and can be stacked.
Hallmarks: 9 375 for 9ct gold, Anchor for Birmingham, date letter for the year 1941. Makers mark: J.M. There is also a stamp showing it was a "utility" band.
Condition: The band is in good vintage condition with surface marks and scratches. These can be polished out by a jeweller to take it back to its original high shine if desired.
