Vintage (1930s) 9ct Yellow Gold Albert Chain (13.5”)

Vintage (1930s) 9ct Yellow Gold Albert Chain (13.5”)

A piece that was once used by a gentleman to hold a pocket watch has become a statement piece of jewellery. An Albert chain can come in all different weights and sizes, this one has a slim curb link but with its beautiful hallmarks and yellow gold it really stands out.

It's the perfect short layer, great extender for another short chain or can be used as a bracelet if wrapped around twice. With hallmarks on every link and makers marks, we can place the chain to the 1930s and crafted by Frank & Walter Hayes Rabone trading as a company called The Albion Chain Co.

The makers mark can be seen on the T bar, a central curb link and the dog clasp.

The hanging T bar slides along the links freely which means it can be center stage either with the clasps showing to the front or to the back. We love it worn to the front with the bolt and dog clasp showing with a couple of charms hanging from them. We also think it makes a fantastic double wrapped bracelet! So if you don't fancy it around your neck you can stack it on your wrist.

Hallmarks: T bar is hallmarked with an anchor for Birmingham, 9 375 for 9ct gold and the makers mark ACCo. Every single link is marked 9 375. There is also an anchor and a date letter for the year 1934 on one of the links.

Condition: Perfect vintage condition. Hallmarks are still crisp and clear. No damage to links. Both clasps are strong.

Weight: 16.12g
