Antique 9ct Gold Trombone Watch Chain with Sliding T bar

Antique 9ct Gold Trombone Watch Chain with Sliding T bar

£1,325.00Price

An absolutely beautiful all original watch chain that was crafted by Charles Daniel Broughton, a chain maker in the late 1800s in Birmingham. We know it's fully original as it is full of hallmarks and the makers mark matches throughout.

The beautiful 9ct gold is that perfect hue, slightly warm tone, typical of antique gold and looks great in a stack of all different tones of gold.

These trombone links are becoming increasingly difficult to find as everyone wants one in their collection, so we were very excited to find 2 that match and both from the same goldsmith! (If you would like to purchase both trombone watch chains, please enter code "bothbabes" at checkout to receive a little discount for keeping them together.)

The chain is in beautiful antique condition and looks perfect as a necklace. The sliding T bar can be center stage with or without the dog clasps showing. We love them all to the front and adding some charms to the clasps.

Condition: The chain is in fantastic condition with only very light signs of wear commensurate with age. Both dog clasps work well.

Hallmarks: every link is stamped 9.375 for 9ct gold. There are also matching makers marks on the dog clasps, T bar and a central link "CDB" for Charles Daniel Broughton a gold and silver chain maker in Birmingham that was registered in 1881.

There is an anchor for Birmingham and a date letter for the year 1886 or 1911 (very similar letters).

Length: 16.25" (this can be extended by approx .75" using the spare links hanging with the T bar - this would need to be done by a jeweller)

Weight: 27.2g
