Vintage (1975) 18ct Emerald and Diamond Boat Ring
At first glance we thought this was a Victorian ring. It has all the details you would expect from an antiue boat ring and the heft and quality too! But we were surprised to see the crisp hallmarks inside telling us that it is actually vintage from 1975.
It's an absolute chunk of a ring at nearly 7g of 18ct gold. The scroll setting reminds us of Victorian rings and they've done a wonderful job with setting the stones flush to the top. It's super comfortable and can be worn all day every day.
The emerald is approx 6.5mm x 5.75mm. It has been assessed as a natural emerald with various natural internal inclusions, typical to a natural emerald stone. It shows surface wear in that the facets have softened with time. The diamonds are approx .4cts each making a total of 0.8tcw of natural brilliant cut diamonds. The diamonds have been assessed as h/i colour and VS1-VS2 clarity. They both face up white and sparkly, any inclusions can only be seen under magnification.
Condition: The ring is in great vintage condition. All stones are secure and the band is still lovely and thick.
Hallmarked: Crown 750 for 18ct gold, Leopard head for London, date letter for the year 1975. Makers mark.
