Antique 18ct Gold Ruby and Old Mine Cut Diamond Trilogy Band
Typically trilogy rings are set with three diamonds, but we love the added pop of rich red colour with the rubies set to each side of the old mine cut diamond. All three stones are flush set into a heavy and wide 18ct gold band.
The old cushion shaped diamond and natural rubies all sit flush in the warm toned 18ct band, but the high crown of the diamond sits slightly proud of the gold setting. The diamond is flashy and white and the rubies are a rich deep red hue that compliments the diamond and gold band perfectly.
The ring feels weighty when worn at just under 9g of solid 18ct gold. It has a patina to it due to its age and does show signs of wear but rather than shine it up, we prefer to keep the history for now and let the new cartaker decide.
It is a large ring size but this can be sized down significantly by a skilled jeweller. Most of the weight is in the top of the ring holding the stones so it will still feel lovely even when sized down.
Central natural earth-mined old cut diamond. Slightly cushion shaped and approx .3cts j/k VS2. Has some small nibbles but these are only visible under magnification.
2 natural earth-mined rubies approx 4.2mm x 4.5mm each. They are well saturated with colour and a deep red-pink hue. There are various nibbles and natural inclusions but can only be seen under magnification.
Hallmarks: There are two antique stamps of "18" and a makers mark "G&Sco" for Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co of London e.1898-1952. The entire piece has been tested as 18ct gold.
Condition: The ring is in well loved antique condition with wear commensurate with age. The ring has been sized in the past and there are sizing marks to the bottom of the band that can be seen as well as some scratches and small nicks to the gold.
