Antique (1913) 22ct Gold Band (Q)

Sometimes there are simple bands that just stand out from the rest and there is something with this one that does just that. The first thing that stood out was the softened engraving to one side that starts to tell us a bit about its life. Then there's the crisp hallmarks so we know that this ring was handmade at the beginning of the Art Deco period. And the makers mark of CG&S, that tells us it was made by Charles Green & Son, a historic British jewellery manufacturer founded in 1824 and well known for their quality pieces.
 
Despite its old age, we would say it is even more beautiful today than it was when it was handmade over 100 years ago as you can see that it has had a wonderful life full of stories.
 
Hallmarks: Crown 22 for 22ct gold, Anchor for Birmingham, date letter for the year 1913. Makers mark: CG&S.
 
Condition: The band is in excellent antique condition with light surface marks and soft patina as would be expected from a piece of this age. These can be polished out by a jeweller to take it back to its original high shine if desired.
