Antique (1921) 9ct Gold Double Albert Watch Chain
This piece would have been an essential (yet stunning!) piece for a gentleman's pocket watch and has now become a desireable piece of jewellery to wear around our necks. An antique pocket watch chain comes with so much history and is the perfect addition to any jewellery collection. This one is a beauty with hallmarks on every single link.
The entire piece is a gorgeous slightly warm 9ct yellow gold with a softness to it that you can only get from its age. All of the links are solid through and through and it sits at a perfect length in a stack. We love the addition of the round links to each end of the chain to make it that perfect wearable length - they match well and do not detract from the original piece.
Hallmarks: Every link is stamped 9.375 for 9ct gold-some worn but still visible. The T bar is stamped 9.375 with the addition of an anchor for Birmingham and a makers mark "CDB". Both dog clasps and a central link also show the same makers mark. There is also a date letter for the year 1921 to one of the links close to the T bar. The fetter and lovers knot chain, dog clasps and T bar are all original to each other.
Condition: The chain is in fantastic antique condition. Dog clasps are both strong and springy. The links show light surface wear commensurate with age.
Weight: 48.67g
Length: 18.25" (There is a section of additional links that have been added to each end, if these were removed it would shorten the chain by 2.5")
