Antique 9ct Gold Round Photo Locket

Antique 9ct Gold Round Photo Locket

A bigger than average round photo locket dating to the Edwardian era with a beautifully engraved monogram to the front and a sweet little boy's photo to the interior (he can be removed if you wish). We wish we knew the history of the piece and could link it to a specific family, but so often with these pieces, we have to just use our imagination.

We love that it is thin, and feels so tactile when it is worn.

It's a quality piece with a built in bail and ring, perfect for hanging from a chain.

The gold is a lovely warm slightly rosey gold hue that is very typical to antique 9ct gold with a beautiful patina to really show its age.

It has its original picture frame and cover to one side in the interior that can be easily removed so that a special photo can be added.

It snaps shut tightly so you know whatever you put inside is safe and secure.

Condition: Good antique condition with wear commensurate with age. There are various scratches and a few small dents as well as some light discolouration.

Hallmarks: There is a makers mark stamped to both sides of the interior C&WP, which is most likely for a jeweller of the Edwardian era C & W Padgett (Charles William Padgett & Walter John Padgett). There are no hallmarks for the gold content but the piece has been tested as 9ct gold. The hinge and part of the interior frame is metal.
