Antique (1908) 9ct Gold Trombone and Lovers Knot Link Chain

We believe the origin of this chain was a longguard and someone has cleverly added an extra round link to the centre of the chain so that it can be used in 2 ways. We love when a piece is versatile!

It's a beautiful rich 9ct gold hue that you only get with antique pieces. It has a soft warm tone, not rose gold, but a soft yellow like butter. Every single link is hallmarked with 9.375, even the teeny love knot links and each of the longer links put together to make the trombone link each carry their own hallmark - so you know its a quality piece that is incredibly well made.

The antique 9ct gold bolt ring hangs as the perfect pendant holder, or as the clasp if you want to double it up. It's beautiful chain with so much thought and detail put into it, we know it will take pride of place in your stack.

Condition: The chain is in good antique condition with wear commensurate with age. The links are nice and strong. The clasp is also strong and springy. There are a couple areas on the chain that show historic repair, slightly darker areas to a couple end bits. We do not believe these are noticeable when wearing but worth mentioning.

Hallmarks: Every single link is stamped 9.375 for 9ct gold. One of the long links also has an assay stamp for Chester and a date letter for the year 1908. The bolt clasp is stamped "9k". The entire piece has been tested as 9ct gold.

Weight: 19.4g

Length: 30.5" all the way around with the bolt dropping 1/4" or

15.5" if doubled and connecting the bolt to the middle ring.
