Antique Art Deco Old Cut Diamond & Ruby Target Ring (UK M)

Antique Art Deco Old Cut Diamond & Ruby Target Ring (UK M)

What a stunning ring straight from the Art Deco period. It just oozes that old world glamour, which is just as perfect for modern wear. This isn't an "Art Deco Style", this is a true piece straight from history that has survived the last 100 years at least. It even retains its original hallmarks as proof.

The fiery old cut diamond sits to the centre of the ring with calibre cut rubies surrounding it. All the stones are hand cut which gives them that extra special sparkle.

Then we have the hallmarks that tells us this is an Austro-Hungarian piece crafted in 14ct gold in Vienna between 1872 and 1922. What a find!

The old cut diamond to the centre is 5.6mm across which gives it the approx size of 0.67cts. It has been assessed within its bezel setting. It has been assessed as a natural hand cut diamond of h/i colour and VS2 clarity. It faces up bright and white - inclusions can only be seen under magnification.

The diamond is surrounded by a halo of calibre cut rubies, which are small, precisely custom-cut gemstones shaped to fit tightly together with no visible metal or gaps. This vintage technique became famous during the Art Deco period and creates a smooth, vivid ribbon of rich red colour often used to outline larger centre diamonds. And whoever crafted this one did a stunning job. The rubies are a beautiful rich pinky red and make the diamond pop. The shoulders are set with 2 small old cut diamonds each.
