Antique Flush Set Old European Cut Diamond Ring

Don't we all love a flush set diamond band? Especially one with a really chunky monkey flashy old cut diamond with those deep facets and unique fire that you can only get in these old hand cut stones.
 
This diamond is not what you would call "perfect". She is not flawless... but she is one of a kind, rare and beautiful nonetheless. She has various eye visible internal inclusions, but as the majority of them are white feathers it just adds to her white flashy appearance. The few dark carbon inclusions are not visible without magnification as th white feathers mask the dark spots. She faces up very white and has a TON of sparkle.
 
It's such a quality piece and weighty at nearly 8g of 18ct gold.
 
The diamond has been assessed in its setting as an old European cut natural diamond of approx 2cts (this assessment has been done in the mount). The diamond has been assessed as I/J colour and I2 clarity. 
 
Condition: The ring is in great antique condition with wear commensurate with age. The gold is still lovely and thick. We believe the ring has had some historic repair work done to it which has created a halo effect around the setting of the diamond where the gold is a slightly different hue to the main gold used in the band. This does not detract from the ring and is only noticeable on close inspection. 
 
Hallmarked: Stamped 18ct and a partial makers mark W&P.
