Antique Flush Set Old Mine Diamond Ring (UK T 1/2)
This ring has everything you want in an antique flush set diamond band. The chunky hand cut diamond with that open culet and tall crown we love to see. It packs a ton of sparkle and fire and is complemented perfectly by the slightly soft yet buttery 18ct gold band. The diamond sits flush to the band in a square setting and looks great stacked with other rings.
The diamond is a beautiful cushion shape of approx .3cts SI1 J/K. The diamond has been measured within the setting.
We date the ring to late 1800s-early 1900s based on the shape of the makers mark and the cut of diamond.
Condition: The ring is in good antique condition with wear commensurate with age. There is some slight thinning and slightly out of shape to the bottom of the shank - this can be fixed if sizing down. It does not impact the strength or feeling of the ring when worn.
Hallmarks: The hallmarks are quite worn but a Crown 18 can be faintly seen, along with a crisp makers mark "HG&S". Most likely for Henry Griffiths & Sons which began in 1850.
