Antique Old Cut Diamond 5-stone Ring (UK N 1/2)

A beautiful 5-stone diamond ring ready to be loved and adored for many more lifetimes.

5 natural diamonds that would have each been measured and hand cut to suit their sparkle at some point in the 1800s sit across the top of this 18ct yellow gold band in a crown of 18ct white gold.

The natural diamonds have such a unique and deep sparkle to them - you won't find this kind of sparkle in modern diamonds. This ring really catches your eye at every turn and it would look great stacked with other rings or completely on its own. Or even as an anniversary or wedding band.

The old diamonds have high crowns that sit slightly above the claw setting like sparkly mountain tops and capture the light perfectly. It's a truly beautiful ring that we are sure will become a special piece to the next caretaker.

The diamonds have been assessed within their settings as natural old mine cut diamonds si2-i2 and K/L colour. The central diamond is an old mine cut diamond of approx .20cts, followed by 2 x .10ct old mine cut diamonds and 2 further .05ct old mine cut diamonds, making a total of approx .50tcw. There are various nibbles and inclusions that can be seen, but all of the diamonds sparkle beautifully and face up white and bright.

We believe that either the ring has been reshanked or the antique diamonds have been reset into this vintage setting at the point of hallmarking. The band is lovely and thick and ready for daily wear.

Hallmarks: Crown 750 for 18ct gold, Leopard for London assay, date letter for the year 1979. Makers mark.

Condition: The ring is in excellent condition with minimal wear commensurate with age. The band is in excellent shape and thickness. All prongs are present and the diamonds are secure.
