French Platinum Old Cut Diamond Tank Ring
This is a real showstopper ring with its chunky old cut diamonds and geometric shape. It's come straight from France during the early 1900s and oozes that old world glamour. We can imagine it sparkling at all those fancy French cocktail events.
Two chunky old European cut diamonds with their exceptional fire sit to central square settings. They are accented by a further 10 little old eight cut diamonds to the stepped shoulders.
It's a "cool kids" version of the romantic toi et moi style ring. Check out that side profile!
The ring head rises approx 4.8mm from the finger, is 17.95mm across and 8.8mm wide.
The central diamonds are approx .35cts each with 5 further diamonds set to each shoulder. The total diamond weight is approximately just over 1 ct of natural old hand cut diamonds. The diamonds have been graded in their setting as h/i colour and VS1-2. They are all eye clean and the light coloured inclusions can only be seen under magnification. They are very white and bright.
Era: The piece can be dated to the early 1900s. Circa 1920-1940.
Hallmarks: There is a faint stamp to the outside of the band of a wolf, a stamp used in the early 1900s in France for Platinum. The ring has also been fully tested as platinum.
Condition: The ring is in great condition with wear commensurate with age. The band shows surface scratches, these can be polished out upon request. All prongs are present and the diamonds are secure.
