Victorian (1882) 18ct Old Cut Diamond Ring

Victorian (1882) 18ct Old Cut Diamond Ring

The diamond and the hallmarks are what makes this ring extra special. The diamond is really deep with a beautiful high crown so the openk setting is perfect for it to really show itself off. It has a gorgeous sparkle.

The belcher setting around the stone is crafted in 18ct yellow gold with an extra butteriness to it that you can only get from old gold.

We know this ring is a true antique as the original hallmarks are all present and crystal clear. It is stamped for the year 1882 which makes it over 140 years old. Yet it is just as in style and just as gorgeous as the day it was made.

The diamond is a natural earth-mined old cut diamond of .68cts h/i colour si1/2 clarity. It has a beautiful high crown and open culet. The inclusions are mainly light coloured feathering and little clouds and can only be seen under magnification. There are also a few little nibbles.

Condition: The ring is in great antique condition with light wear commensurate with age. The claws are intact and the diamond is secure. The band is still lovely and thick. Please note that with this style of setting we suggest that the claws are looked at professionally on a regualr basis to ensure the diamond's security.

Hallmarked: Crown 18 for 18ct gold, Anchor for Birmingham, date letter for the year 1882.
